Here's what happened yesterday:
Alaa was about to be kicked out by the rose hosting guys. So we decided to move it to my own hosting space as a temp. solution "Sorry all admins/mods/users as we didn't really have time to consult all of you, But such discussions are usually on IRC, So blame yourselves for not joining."
We were not able to get a copy of eglug as rsync or scp'll result in a high I/O and the rose guys were very happy to pull the plug if this happens.
As I'm only running a server with 64M RAM the site was really dead when eglug was moved.
However the mail is still hosted at alaa's because I have no time to configure postfix now.
I've added an extra 64M RAM to get more life to the server ;-) An extra 64M RAM costs 20$. I payed only $7.34 because we have only 10 days remaining.
The money I payed yesterday is for eglug and I need nothing from anyone, Thank you all guys "but if you really want to help, Get me a new harddisk/battery/charger for my laptop :-)". Anyway.
I have no problems hosting eglug forever but I can't afford the extra 20$ for the RAM. As the admins pay for the hosting this is for them:
If you are satisfied with the current performanc, I have no problems hosting eglug, And if so, Is 20$ OK ?
If not, Then we have to find another solution fast because I'm not planning to pay for the next month hosting with 128M RAM.
PS. MY VPS is currently hosting: http://www.foolab.org http://whirlpool.foolab.org http://slacker.foolab.org + http://www.eglug.org
"hope i didn't forget anything".
No plans to host new domains but You Never Know (tm).
