These days, I'm fairly swamped. Quite apart from my job (which has nothing to do with Linux or IT), I have several things going on which relate to Linux and EGLUG.

For the curious, here's the personal projects I have going:

  1. Writing a newcomers' FAQ (I have [amg]]'s list of proposed questions, will work on them tonight the 14th of June and post tomorrow in the wiki for community review) (100% done)
  2. Translating the Hacker HOWTO by ESR into Arabic (25% done; I have started on the `Basic Hacking Skills' section) (UPDATE: I'm thinking of putting what I have done already on the wiki for others to contribute to. Not sure I'll get it done.)
  3. Writing an action plan to promote [FOSS Adoption in Egypt]] (hopefully canonical doc) (done)
  4. Localising gqview (100% done)
  5. Localising drupal (sherif took care of this one)
  6. Coordinating the first EGLUG meeting (100% done)
  7. Coordinate an online Do or Die translation session using Kartouche (which mhlmi discovered)

I will keep this page updated.

The Action plan to promote FOSS in Egypt is now finished. I am trying to convince Latex2html not to break my cross-references; as soon as that's done, I'll post it up here for discussion.

I promised amg that I'd have a draft of answers to his newcomer questions up by sunday, but I am late. Like my update says, look tomorrow morning for it.

And the Hacker HOWTO translation is progressing, but VERY slowly. I have reached the bit where it says boredom and drudgery are evil. I wonder if jitter is progressing on his part...

am trying to come-up with more of these q's, will post when ready.
a note about those q's: am not really that stupid, am just trying to imitate typical have-no-clue-user.
turns out though that i have such a good understanding of stupidity. makes me wonder :D.

P.S.

and that ladies and gentelmen would be the smallest positive x for which sin(x) = 0
i.e. pi
which leads to the conclusion that the meeting will be held in some place sorta *roundish* :)
silly. i know. but couldn't help it.

AMG. -When things have gone from bad to worse, The cycle will repeate itself.
