We have confirmed the date and the location of the first EGLUG meeting. It will be 3rd of July 2004 at noon at El Sakia Cultural Center in Zamalek.

This is a meeting for EGLUG. The purpose is:

To get to know the people in EGLUG we are working with
To discuss relevant issues face to face
To have a good cup of coffee or tea

We need:

~~Discussion on the proposed date~~ 03/07/2004
~~Proposals for venues~~ El Sakia Cultural Center
An agenda of things needing discussion
Someone to volunteer to take notes and report on the meeting here on the website

30 june will be on a wednesday i think it's better on a saturday (maybe 26) also i think there should be a group of volunteers to prepare for it maybe 4 people is enough /i'm ready to volunteer/ proposed agenda: - a session on the challenges for the site and maybe we can afterwards make groups for each section of the challenges so this group would be responsible for the task (we can then use the project module for progress tracking)

Timing

The 26th is the day immediately before the first cuLUG meeting, so I think it is polite to:

Give them space
Make ours after theirs

If people think a Saturday is better, then perhaps Saturday the 2nd of July?

sorry, but I think you're abusing the events module. when you want to discuss something still in planning the forums should be used, use EGLUG >> Events forum for this.

also remember how we wanted a single long thread for a single topic, so we should keep the discussion inside the original forum thread "EGLUG Meeting? Good idea? Bad idea?" until a date and a basic agenda is decided.

the events module should be used to keep a clear schedule/calender of events not for maybes.

Great meeting

The meeting was a great success, we had lots of fun, it was very constructive, we got new members, new friends and the lunch and feloka where a great way to end the day.

photos @ my home box, please pick the best photos and add them to the gallery I created for the event.

Manal will dump her Meeting Minutes on the wiki, and will write a short report tomorrow, the rest can join with comments and stuff.

meanwhile here are a few words from our newest members in mpg 3.8MB and xvid 1.4MB.
