I really feel bad when I look at what's happening in the LUG these days.

A fight between the members for the admin votes.

Even trying to solve it is leading to a fight.

A fight while discussing the install fest activities.

I don't know, But this wasn't what I aimed for when we forked and created the new lug. This wasn't the aim when I went to universities to give sessions and seminars, This wasn't the aim when I was destributing CDs, Wasn't the aim when we were working on the website, When I wake up or sleep late because there is a problem with the host/vps, Not what I wanted when I was porting our modules to the new drupal API. and more.

No, This wasn't what I aimed for.

I don't know what to do, But I really feel bad that this is what we ended to.

What happened/is happening ? Can't we be real people and do it the right way ?

Why a fight for the admin. rights ? Didn't you all aggree on the rules and charter ? What's happening and why ?

Maybe I need a vacation from the LUG for a few days ?

what you think is better ...

but you have to know, egypt is a terrible place to live in, and crowded chicken farms turn the chicken to cannibals, thats why the farmers use debeaking to reduce cannibalism in chicken (boycot KFC ;))

just be compationate and patient, and excuse ppl

I chose silence concerning this issue the last 48 hours in hope not to express anything that might be of harm to the lug, but reading Sameer's post made me decide that I should get out of this silence, specially that I'm the cause of all this.
Seeing that in a period of several hours (around 6) a forum thread could be that active, and I wish that such a thread would've been for the benefit or having added value to our main goal, or in another thread people arguing whether the install fest belongs to whom.
I hated it when I came in the morning to find on the homepage the first thing is a poll stating (Conceptor wins/Ezabi wins) as if it's a ummm let's say a football match, wake up please, we're one community.
I don't think this was the dream that /dev/cabal had when they started the lug.
Accordingly I hereby state that I give up the priviliges of administratorship (if it has any) while still with the full will to take the responsibilities, which are not only exclusive to admins, but any member has the full right to perform them at will, thus I don't want to have the word admin in front of my alias in the members list, if it wasn't in breach with the charter I would have prefered to unpublish the poll from the first page and remove my name from the admins list.
Let's not look only at the dark side of such an argument, but it had positive sides to it as well, to mention a few;

  • DarknessWolf set a great example during this time in terms of moderatorship and situation handling
  • We started reading the charter sireously and understading it well
  • There were a few very good examples of healthy and mature discussions
  • and a lesson learnt ;)

I hope I did not offend anyone by this comment, and I chose to post it here and not on the famous thread as it's a personal opinion and may be of some bias so it shouldn't be on the forum.
Cheers everybody and let's spare this energy for better activities as we have an incoming expo and linux fext, as well there will be need for much volunteers the incoming period for Menya, and hopefuly Beni Suef and Sohag and resuming the Sakya courses and... and... and...
