The Seven Golden Rules of Term Paper Writing
A student doesn't need to be a Shakespeare or a Hemingway in able to excel in term paper writing. He simply must follow the rules of proper grammar, and use a little creativity as well.
A student may find it hard to achieve. With several assignments to do, it would be tough to spend time composing and thinking of the right words. Most students don't know time management. The fact that they rather socialize would make procrastination a common occurrence during the end of the semester. Lack of interest is another factor.
Term paper writing seems daunting at first. It requires ample time to do it. Researching takes some time as well. Most students also don't have the will to write when they want it. They have to be "in the mood".
Students don't need to despair though. Term paper writing can be a breeze if they remember these seven golden rules:
1. Ponder your topic carefully. If the students have the option to pick a subject matter, writing about something they like would lessen their effort. If the instructor decides on the topic, then they must plan their time in able to do thorough researching.
2. An outline lessens the writing time. Students don't have the luxury of time. It won't do them no good if they don't come up with an outline first.
3. Never begin with an uninteresting title. Students must remember that term paper writing is not another school requirement. They must remember the effort that they put into it.
4. An unforgettable opening makes a great term paper. Most readers have a short attention span. A dull opening paragraph diminishes the chances of the paper being read entirely.
5. Conciseness is the best approach. Students have lots of ideas, and they are surely worth reading. However, it doesn't necessarily make a good paper. They must select the ones that are related to the main topic. Brevity makes good term paper writing.
6. Always acknowledge other sources. Plagiarism is not encouraged for many reasons. It robs the students the ability to think of what to write. It would also cost the students their reputation (and possible dismissal).
7. Don't take term paper writing for granted. Most students may not end up writing for a living, but doing school papers would make them realize that being a writer is not a profitable job. Many do it for love.
