SQLFS-Fuse (SQL Filesystem in USErspace)

Well I was bored and wanted to learn perl then I noticed the sweet fuse while working on 2.6.11-rc1-love1 and it hit me, let's make a mysql filesystem!

Here's my first take at it, it works 100% read-only, of course its not multithreaded (my 2nd perl script ever..) so don't abuse it too much :-p

url : http://www.q2h.com/gentoo/sqlfs-fuse.pl

Depends on:

  • the fuse kernel module!

  • Bash running setuid ?

I've been doing some researches on buffer overruns for my graduation project. Now the problem seems that all papers are quite old. The content concerning stack and execution environment still counts, but I've had trouble launching a bash or sh in setuid. Funny thing is, ksh works fine. Haven't tried anything else yet. But does anyone have any ideas concerning bash/sh ?

    al salamo alaykom !

Its my graduation year (cs undergrad) and our dean at our univ has helped us pick out a topic for a "web services" related project. It's about RSS feeds; and i think the main idea is we're meant to build a program thats similar to "http://www.feedster.net/", but its meant to be on a more advanced level and its meant to offer some kinda web service such as sms'ing specific news 2 ppl in egypt or something....

well, thing is, we're (by we i mean me and the other 2 ppl working on the graduation project) are completely inexperienced when it comes to rss feeds... we never heard about rss until about a month ago... so if anybody can possibly help out with info about that, or any tips we might find useful, or any relevant info id be more than grateful !

Hi, I downloaded the jvm from www.java.com and I just managed to install the mozilla plugin for java scripts. But I didn't really succeed in running the jvm itself. Any suggestions ? As I looked up the web and didn't find much help.
