About Alex InstFest
I already asked about your opinion on the Place of AAST in Abou keir and no one give me any type of opinions ,and i think that i said about my opinion for the AAST why i'm not in its side cause it's not in the middle of the city and cause the most complicated place to invite ppl for, and cause of that i'm feeling that i'm searching alone . Instead of AAST Abou Keir their 'll be a place in Kafr Abdo but i don't know yet , about if there 'll be a small , few charge or not .. at least let me feel that you can give me an opinion and let me know about your needs and how you'll advertise about the Isnt Fest.
eglug courses again
as you all know we're supposed to start the eglug courses on august.
here is what I suggest we do.
we do a 3 days course for beginners, this course will cover
- FOSS concept
- Istallation
- basic desktop usage
- common applications
- major components of GNU/Linux
- some of the charactaristics of GNU/Linux
- things that are different from Window$
- configuring your system
- how to seek help and find documentation
I suggest we do this course at least once a week, if not more.
then we could have 2 day or 4 day courses on more specialized or advanced topics, maybe command line, maybe networking, maybe some programming topic, maybe graphics, maybe indepth opneoffice whatever.
what no activitiers this week?
apart from the phaeronix presentation, no other activity is mentioned for this week??
did you guys agree on activities yesterday or not?
cheers,
Alaa

EGLUG Meeting Agenda
We will be meeting at noon at El Sawy Cultural Center (El Sakia) on Saturday the 3rd of July. The proposed agenda is as follows:
- Working out the details of EGLUG courses at El Sakia: who teaches what when and to whom
- Deciding on the Alexandria InstallFest; where and when?
- Improving cooperation with Linux-Egypt: how and why?
- Marketing EGLUG: how?
- Improving access to Linux distros and linux books and other things.
- The eglug.org website; challenges facing us, improvements needed, suggestions (and praise for Alaa, Manal, whirlpool, and ramez for their great work!)
- Discussing and ratifying the EGLUG charter
- Discussing ideas for group work such as writing a book, translating tldp.org articles, etc. (brainstorming)
EGLUG courses
EGLUG Meeting? Good idea? Bad idea?
eglug.org is now up, obviously, and I personally am fairly happy with how things look for a group so young.
It was suggested on the IRC channel (#eglug on irc.freenode.net) that a real-life meeting might be nice, and I think that it is an idea worth discussion.
Potential benefits:
- We nasty fork()ers get to explain clearly what the ideals are
- I get to clarify the charter to people (this is probably needed, my english is nasty)
- It's good to know people you're working with
Potential drawbacks:
- It's a logistical nightmare arranging this
