Last saturday we met at al sakia to discuss upcoming events with Al Sakia.
Khaled informed us that there is still big demand for our beginner courses, and that sakia requested that we continue them, they are a source of new GNU/Linux users, EGLUG members and sakia visitors.
khaled also pointed out that it doesn't help our image when people come to sakia to ask about upcoming events and recieve no clear replies.
so we finally agreed to get back to doing beginner courses, and perhaps sessions again (both very popular activities), the problem is we have 3 major projects going on now, the ArabDev Menya project the Center For Knowledge Societey conference and the upcoming installfest which sakia is very interested in.
this means that the traditional set of volunteers who used to do the bulk of the work are very busy, we need more volunteers and new faces.
now Conceptor, Marwa and RamezHanna agreed to start the courses, but they'll need help if we want to keep it up.
please if you are interested in giving a beginners course, or in helping with one post a comment here, the usual format is one course every week for up to 6 people, the course is a 3 days thing (typically sunday, tuesday and thursday but thats not set in stone) each day starts at 5:30pm and lasts until 8pm
