It was a very successful session, we had a huge number of attendants I think the last count was 34, but of course we couldn't cram them all in the sakia lab or around its window, so we decided it to repeat this session next thursday and asked whoever can attend on thursday to register their names and leave. We ended up with 23 persons 4 of them watching from the window or the door.

Alaa started by giving a background on how the web works and what is meant by dynamic websites, then he explained what a CMS is and what r the different platforms used for building dynamic websites.

He moved on to the steps of building a website using drupal, then the different user roles of drupal: reader, author, editor and adminstrator.

we tried adding/editing different types of content and discussed the various fields, we discussed taxonomy and experimented with all this on the drupal installation on http://test.eglug.org

we went quickly on the different roles of the administrator and Alaa showed us where to configure them.

It was a very good session and many of the attendants asked for an advanced Drupal session..Hope it will be soon :-)
