( categories: EGLUG events )

Phaeronix.net has been registered and is hosted.

I am cobbling together a simple website there, just static HTML, no CMS no php nothing. Maybe later I can fit in those.

Anyone who can offer a hand is most welcome. Contact me and I will hive you access.

I think this is an important achievement.

I also wanted to say that this ISO has been built specifically for i686. That means PentiumIII and above and AMD-K7 ( I think ). It did work on Pentium II but was rather unstable. It refused to work on Pentium I and AMD-K6.

I have got a request to recompile for i586 and i386 but I am not sure that would be helpful as these computers are already too slow to deal with a liveCD. Correct if I am wrong, and convince me if you see something useful in doing so.

Volunteers Needed!

DJ_King has volunteered to maintain phaeronix for a while starting next year. The project still needs volunteers, however. Please look at the following list and see if you can help. If you can, please post below:

  1. Someone to help Sameh (DJ King) maintain the project
  2. Graphic designers to brand the distro
  3. Testers who are willing to submit bug reports, suggestions for improvements, and information.

Dynamic pages are probably a good idea if you want to open up development though. For example, a bugzilla would be great.

Okay we will wait for DjKing to return as I failed to produce the iso before he left ( as I said in my blog shame on me!).

I already have linuxawy and AmrGo for testing. Arius32 volunteered to make a logo.
of course we need lot's more volunteers.
As for CMS and dynamic pages it's way over my head. I have very little experience using them. I would only know how to set them up. My host does have MySQL and php support ( but no SSH sadly ). It's cpanel btw. :)
Of course A dynamic website would definitely be easier. I made only three html pages and I am already pulling my hair out.
Ya Mr. masalan tell us why masalan masalan?
lol.

I wish I could install phaeronix on my patients.
