Cannot Connect to internet through vodafone DSL in RedHat9

I installed Red hat 9 on my desktop computer but i cannot connect to internet through my DSL Router i tried to connect fix the problem through the Network configuration GUI , i see the network card in called "eth0" and status is "inactive" when i press "activate" button i got error message "the card seems not to be connected" , what can i do?

Redhat 9 is no longer supported. I'd rather advice you to use the latest fedora distribution.
