I am having a small problem here. I have d/led and installed the mplayer package and it's codecs correctly. I have installed the skin in the folder /usr/local/share/mplayer/Skin/default/skin/ and he fonts in the right folder too, /usr/local/share/mplayer/fonts/ and I can't get it working, here is the output of gmplayer

I use firefox to browse the internet, but I can't make it work with multimedia. for instance, I can't listen to Aljazeera programs and I can't see their broadcast on the net. Whay should I do?

How are you all, I have a problem with installing mozilla thunderbird for managing my email. I simply can't find the script which is responsible for installing it as I did with FireFox. And when I went to the site which has help about installing, it was talking about installing it on windows!!! and did not mention anything about Linux installation. I have tried

I am having difficulty in associating my Konqueror to html files. I don't use Mozilla and I love to use Konq. but when I try to open one of my saved web pages I get the following error message; "There appears to be a configuration error. You have associated konqueror with test/html, but it can't handle this file type"! (the exclamation is from me not it).

Why can't it handle this file type? I know that konqueror is a web browser and a file manager too. I don't like mozilla (compared to konqueror) and I want to use konq. because it gives me a very clear web page and a very clear pics and fonts, what should I do?

any body managed to get it running on something aother than RH or Deb ? if not, then what the heck is in /etc/rc.d/init.d/functions on your machines as i keep getting an error that some shell library function is missing, now i'm sure all the needed "functions" are already there but i can't seem to figure out what they are so i could edit my BSD style init (slackware 10 - current)

hi guys i always compiled qemu sucessful but when i tried to compile it on slackware latest , i couldn't find libsdl so i download it an install it, but libsdl had problem in shared lib. libasound as i remember so when i compiled qemu i disabled sound so it works and compiles but when i tried to execute it , it gives me : couldn't find DNS error, also i tried it as slackware tgz package it gave the same error.

hi all how can i recover deleted extended partions without having the partion table the problem is that i've installed debian woody , i deleted a partition at the middle of the hd then i deleted the following one then i realized that i need the first one back but i don't remember start and end sectors , is there any program that can restore it for me ,

Studio 32 is a community-minded studio that aims at providing music services to amateur and professional musicians. We offer rehearsal rooms, music accessories, instrument repair, music transcription, etc. We would like to create an online forum where the studio personnel and clientele can interact, to discuss those services and more.

We already have web space, so all we need is to install a forum application and to configure it. Can somebody from the EGLUG community help us? We are ready to discuss a modest compensation if necessary.

I have been using Kedit for a while, loving the feature of creating a backup file for each file I change. But, I find Kwrite better than Kedit in some features (I use fortran codes and it is find in displaying them) but when I change something, it does not make a backup of the old file, as I am used to in kedit. How may I activate this feature in Kwrite?

Peace, I would like to know if a package like KAPCKAGE exits for FedoraCore2. I have tried www.rpmfind.net, but the one I installed (kapckage-3.x.x.rpm) was installed correctly yet did not work. I typed kapackage and said it is not found! So, if there is any package manager for FedoraCore2 that would be great, the one that comes with it is awful!

I would like to know if it is possible to do the above conversion and how (in details) on Linux. I would like to know if there are packages specially designed for this job or is it contained already in my distribution (Mand. Power Pack + 10.0)?

PS. To be honest, I could do it in Windows with a cracked Program (I then unistalled it) and it was like a knife in a cube of butter!
