We will have elections soon

Submitted by Alaa on Thu, 06/01/2005 - 20:01.
( categories: Website )

I know we said this before this time its for real.

elections where delayed because of me finding no time to write the ranking vote module, then they where delayed because we waited until the upgrade to drupal 4.5 was done. then it was delayed even further because we dleayed the upgrade until we moved to a new host, the move to a new host was delayed until we could find a decent host and after finding one it was delayed until we could find a functioning credit card.

Of Mice and Men

Submitted by Alaa on Tue, 28/12/2004 - 13:20.
( categories: EGLUG Website )

as you all must have noticed we've been having many problems with our hosting provider, we decided to move to a new host and we've been working slowly on the migration and a upgrade to drupal 4.5

however yesterday we found strange changes to file permissions and the site theme was b0rked, we decided enough was enough and started on emergency migration. the idea was to move the hardly ever used eglug.net domain to the new host and work on the migration there then change the eglug.org domain, this way most users would not feel any downtime.

The LAST course

Submitted by Manal on Fri, 01/10/2004 - 02:45.
( categories: EGLUG events )

When we started giving GNU/Linux courses for Beginners in August we were planning to give 4 courses only, but due to the great demand we continued to give them in September and the first half of October.

Although we still have a very long waiting list for the courses, attendance has been very low in the past two courses, we are not sure if this is due to mistakes on the booking and confirmation process or a sign of change in the demand.

EGLUG announces that the courses will stop with the beginning of the month of Ramadan.

The last course will start on the 10th of October.

We hope that we gained new GNU/Linux users and new EGLUG members :-)
