Wall PapersIt looks like we have a new active member, Khaled Hosney.
I guess that he deserves to be a senior since moderation rights are only granted with elections.
Should we start counting his points ?
The MCAP states that a moderator can grant up to 30 points provided that 3 mods. agree with him.
If the 30 points'll grant him the rank of a senior user, Then Here's the 1st vote. We need 2 more.
The rationale is unclear and this smacks of cronyism
I don't intend to be unfair here, but despite conforming to the charter this just looks wrong.
It looks like you just jumped up and said "Hey, let's make Bar Foo a privileged person". It isn't clear what your criteria are. Can he drink more Pepsi than the current privileged persons? Does he have a particularly striking feather attached to his head? Did he do something meaingful for the LUG? What?
I'm not saying he shouldn't be promoted, but you need to be clear about the reasons. Don't just say "According to the MCAP bla bla bla 5 billion points!" List them.
We're people down here in the peanut gallery too.
Maybe if you tell us what nice things he's done we'll make a parade for him, eh?
he is not senior yet
He is not a senior user yet .. he had created 1 article about RPMs and translated the wiki syntax page ... if his points not enough so he will not be senior if it`s enough then he will be ... and i guess active users should be senior and if there is anyone feels he is active and didn`t got senior he should say and got his points counted.

We said that we'll count his points and give him a senior degree if the points are enough.
The MCAP doesn't say that we must give reasons.
The reasons are obvious if you have a lok at the articles section.

I think we should take care of the upcoming event,and focus how to organize great event (it will be great).
after fest we can count points and garnt who helped on this, also we can re-fine our seniors list.
generally I have no problem if khaled passed the required points.

it makes sense
mcap says a score will be kept, we don't have an automated system yet so I suppose it is our duty to keep an eye an manually count from time to time (I regularly check the top contributors and tally their scores).
khaled's score is 106 so he doesn't need the moderators grant points, he is senior member already (only after his 3 articles got pushed to the article area)
