Al salam 3alikom; Mandrake 10.1 installation freeze at the point of “ detecting CD-ROM drive “. In other cases during detecting USB. It’s happened with LG-CDROM , USB mouse. I could escape the problem and install by alternative way, but I still need to know exactly what is the problem

yes, one of the problem is the LG-CD, but we see the same error with mandrake 10.1 on PC's don't use LG-CDROM, and by try and error we found that the problem with the USB mose, when we use PS/2 or serial mouse it works fine.

bet you can install if you use no usb dev.

try passing nousb nopcmcia as boot options .. or was it usb=off and pcmcia=off

I used to be indecisive .. but now I'm not so sure
