How to start learning....
There is no "right way" to learn , there is a suitable way to achieve your target. In enterprises they mostly use Redhat Linux distros which isn't free, so you may start using Fedora (a free Redhat based distro sponsored by Redhat Inc.)
To get Fedora installation media go to http://fedoraproject.org/en/get-fedora , also you may contact the nearest EgLUG member in your area who are listed in this page http://eglug.org/getlinux he/she will provide you the installation media if you don't have fast broadband in your location.
If you can't leave Windows at the moment , you may start learning Linux using Virtual Machines , one of the most widely known and of course free open source is VirtualBox from Sun Microsystems http://www.virtualbox.org this will enable you running a Linux machine inside Windows session.
Once you are done installing , the first step is reading your distro documentation (Fedora documentation http://docs.fedoraproject.org/ ). You might find many interesting books about networking in Linux on the web, Google is your loyal friend.
P.S. Linux is Linux, no matter what distro you are using, so once you are familiar with network administrating on Fedora, you will be doing good on any other Linux distro (Redhat, Debian...etc)
Good Luck!
