Hi all ,, i am using redhat linux 8 .. but in kde 3 .. no arabic ... i did every thing u said but also no arabic...... only ???? ??????

so what shall i do
i created .fonts folder .. and copied tahoma font and other fonts ..
then go to key bord config and put ar ... and whent to konquer config and choose tahoma font what shall i do else

if the fonts is the problem copy them to
/usr/share/fonts/ttf/decoratives & it will be installed
but if u need to write arabic u must set the xkb

type that in any terminal

$ kcmshell keyboard

that's 4 kde

1) the font installation
2) the font using -setting them to be default-
3) the keyboard layout
4) the localized interface
5) how to read arabic file names in fat partitions
which one are you talking about ?

i only want to read arabic files in kde 3

and read arabic web pages in opera 7.11 browser

about reading arabic files there an articles here
which u have to change ur codepage in /etc/fstab file
see the article again.
about opera u can change the language from the preferance page or option 1 idon't remember.

Opera doesn't support Arabic.
Please paste your /etc/fstab here.

opera lacks bidi so it prints arabic from left to right
(you could read it this way if you have to).

thanks .. but now arabic not my biggest problem .. i can't copy and past /etc/fstab here as i can't connect to internet.. i am using a net cafe ...

my big problem is the internet ... i downloaded the new kernel 2.4.20-19.8

and i couldn't log onto net so i installed other hsf drivers...

for other kernels ..

then i knew about hsfconfig .... but now it says that i have a newe driver ,,. what shall i do ???

and more than that i my only problem now is the arabic ... i could logonto net,, also i could play filmes ... and songs...

the only thing is arabic in kde ... and opera .. i know that opera won't be solved now

as the konquer read arabic >>>>but the kde can't read arbic ... although i don't need it very much but i need it anyway
