i have a distro debian woody ver 3.0 , i wuld like to have a graphical ftp program on my x-windows . i have a the full set of the distro but i do not know how to install it .so could you help me.

apt-cache search ftp client

then apt-get install "what you want"

BTW; Debian woody = Debian 3.0 ;-)

I dont really get you
you need help in installing debian woody ...

or do u need help getting a graphical ftp for debian woody

i dont know what is an ftp program anyway
but u can get it like uniball said

as for installing debian it self

after i installed debian for the first time X (Xwindows , xfree, what ever we should call it) would not start

the problem i had was that i chose yes (or no, but i think yes, ya3ni i chose the wrong answer)

of course i reinstalled debian kolo to choose the other answer
which is totally not needed
i could have run

dpkg-reconfigure --priority=low xserver-xfree86
for x version 4
this command will allow u reconfigure x
but it will ask u everythin tany, which can be boring

so u can make the right change in this file
/etc/X11/XF86Config-4

which will be easier , but i dont know which line , or how to fix/change this option directly in the file
maybe uniball knows ....

thanks a lot , i have found too many ftp client and i have choosed some of them and it installed aleraday, every thing is ok but i have a question , i can not access by using root account but by using other normal user i can access and do every thing so that is normal or i have to reconfigure some thing . also if i have to access by using normal user , in this case after a complation of transfer or sending ; i have to recorrect again the owner of the files to be fit with the right owner.

soreey for misunderstaing , i have the debian woody ver 3.0 allready installed on my pc but the problem was that i do do not have a ftp client but now i have it .
