I'm not sure about anything without hardware details
and please change the subject to something related to the post content.
jo-jo
sorry i didnot know that other hardware details would be helpful in this problem ok:-
i have a mobo GIGABYTE with builtin sound card
as i said a TNT vga card but note that the computer man told me a strange thing about this TNT , he said that card has the chipset of GEFORCE , i really didnot understand this but i told him (3albarakah , hat el cart dah !)

sattia
by quickly parsing the log file it seems that u didnt install the kernel sources or kernel header files.
make sure that u ve the above mentioned packages installed and try again.
I dnt want to be so obvious but just a reminder; make sure u install it as root.
jo-jo
hi sattie thanx for replying ,
well
when i got this meesage , i went to the install software manager , and it asked me for the root password ,
and then i searched for the work kernel
and i choose to install all the results that contain the word kerner and headers (be aware that iam ultimately newbie in linux )
(iam using mdk9)
then nothign changed too :(
jo-jo
What i did is the correct way to install the kernel header files?
jo-jo
tayeb balash !!!!!!!!
mesh lazem nvidia drivers !!!
can i ask u another question?
if i upgrade to a specific kernel ...will i got the normal speed ?
thanx

It seems to be a runlevel problem. You said you wanted graphical, not text mode. type startx at the prompt.

Salamo 3alaikom,
You should not be running X. Most Linux distros don't enable simultaneous X sessions. Don't ask me how to do such a thing, search the forum for such a topic if you like.

I don't even think this is possible to dowithout patching XFree.
to start another instant of X, you have to use a different display, just try
startx -- :1
then
startx -- :2
cheers,
Alaa
