it's pretty nice but not sure i get the point..
dd and a simple bash script to extract the image to a new harddisk and modify needed files (hostname, resolv.conf, etc) is faster.

Whats the headache of this dd method when u ve:
- different harddisks sizes
- different harddisks partitioning schemes
- different packages to be installed
- different archs to be installed on
for sure there r more than this list but the memory dsnt help
I think uve to think trpl not twc b4 u post cuz this dd is only applicable in a very limited special case
