View Full Version : Fedora installation problem (xsane)

SaudiOnMoon
Hi guys,
I installed successfully Redhat 9.0 on Toshiba laptop before and it was working fine. Now I tried many times to install Fedora but after inserting CD2 I got the attached error as in the picture.

I downloded CD2 from 3 different locations but still having same problem. Even I used ISO files from the hard disk directly!

Any help?

Check their md5sums.

Thanks Maher,
would you explain what do you mean by "md5sums"?

Salamo 3alaikom,

md5sum was mentioned before on the forum. Eventhough I will mentioned it once more. When you downloading a CD iso image image, the file itself has a certain length and when using md5sum it creates a certain number that corresponds to that iso image. That md5sum number is present on the ftp mirror where you got the iso image from. Usually all the md5sums for fedora isos are present in a single directory one for each CD. When you get the files, do md5sum for every file and compare with the corresponding md5sum outcome that is present of the file for that CD image.

PS: Please do a search on the forum for a keyword.

Salam.
