Salamo 3alaikom,
Which Desktop environment do you use? KDE or GNOME? If KDE search the forum for Arabic and KDE, if GNOME you must update Gnome to 2.2 since the included version of Gnome in Debian 3.0r1 is Gnome 1.4 which doesn't support arabic.
Salam.

Debian user is assumed to have enough experience
1- install Arabic fonts.
2- Configure an Arabic layout for the keyboard
3- As habdin said.

I'm not using KDE or GNOME to tell you how to configure it.
And the way i've configured it won't suite you ;-)
As i'm using a dockapp to switch the layout.
Or i can use Katoob keyboard switcher !
