That's not true, In case of the Air conditioner you have to open a window in the SAME room, Cause you maybe opening a window in another room while you are closing the door of the room the AC is kept in.
So in this case there'll be no problem. That's one.
The other one is that if you are using the AC as a fan, It won't be affected by the opening of the window, I think that if there is air blowing out of the window it'll not fail, It'll aid the AC.

uniball :- It is something logical , the air conditioner is not a fan , it is a machine that give us worm or cold air according to the desire ... so if you open the windows , the air from outside will be mixed with the air from the conditioner .. so the air conditioner will lose its feature !!

yeah but opening the window does not break my computer.

hell my windows are always open and not just the ones that let sunlight in but I also open a window manager and X Window and it still works.

It can be still used like a fan.
and i still insist that the window must be in the same room, and while not in fan mode.
the AC was initially born for cooling air, but we can use it as a fan, That's an option ;-)

I can't use my computer as a fan though.

well on second thoughts, I can take out a side of the case and shake it (like a paper fan), but it won't be as effective.

better open the window then.

I saw this before in another forum , and you know what ? all the members liked it , and laughed much , also i liked it ... so , i think that it is your problem not mine that makes you dnt like it . i 'm sure that all the members got lost in this cuz of your interfere - both uniball and alaa - and they may not get what is that about :(

the CPU fan should be pushing air toward the CPU.

I'd have to put my head between the fan and the CPU but its sooo crammed in there I my hair gets caught into the fan, and my cheeks get marks from these nasty heatsinks with teeth.

tab3an if hardware can't do it then maybe there is a software workaround.

I should check maybe emacs has a fan mode (it has an air conditioning mode but I get sick from air conditioners so I can't use that).

and if you want to make sure the window are closed before you open the ac mode add this to your .emacs file

(add-hook 'ac-mode 'close-window)


tab3an if you have more than one window in the room you need to modify the close-window() function, just make labmda that closes a single window and iterate of the room-windows list.
