what are the minimum requirements of installing linux ?

when i install linux on my pc with my pc configuration , what happen if i went to my friend pc and wanted to make my hard master , my friend pc is different of my pc , as he may have less capacity in harddisk and ram ?

Your linux installation would work on his PC on everything except X (GUI) if your Graphics card is different from his. In three words: Linux is portable.
