doen anyone know how or where do to this ?

with me a hard drive that fall of a table - 1m hight - and now when u plug it u can hear strange sounds as if the arm is stuck

when shocking the drive u don`t hear any sounds so i assume the condition is not that bad

it is 40G WD

is there any hope ?? retriving the data is the most important

can`t we make it run for at least one more time to put the data somewhere else ??

walla 7`las keda 3aleh el 3awad we yetremy ba2a ?

Salamo 3alaikom,

Is this the case even if you put it as a Slave in any other PC?

no the damaan finished long time ago

habdin : it is mechanical error and dosen`t make diffrence if it is slave or master since the bios can`t see it from start

if it was some damged with the electonic board we could remove it and put another similar one for a while till we get the data back

but it is with the hardware itself

the sound keeps tek tok tek tok

anybody had similar situation ?

sattia

Um, yes.

The golden rule: treat others as you would have them treat you.

They didn't break the hard drive; why should they pay for it?

GUESS WHAT !!
el marrady el 3amaleya tammet benaga7 !!

but deassembling it , was really so easy

on the previous operations with older HDs it was really hard that i though the box itself where the media is , is vacumed !

and there were alot of peices from something like cartoon to avoid dust

and i remember that there were alot of screws to be removed - or was i untidy ?:) -

i opned the covred to see the media - betelma3 we shaklaha yefre7 ;) - then i attached the HD to the computer to see what is stuck and if i can give it a push or something

shocking that the bios saw it , booted from it without a touch !

so anybody would like to buy 30GB HD with warranty tickets removed ?:D

i already bought a new one for my friend instead of this one , so this one is extra now

shabab el leeenooks a7la shabab :D
