View Full Version : Bug in Search (new posts)

Salamo 3alaikom,

I have noticed another bug in the search php thing. Sometimes posts that were read before by myself do appear on View new posts. I don't know why this is happening. I thought that this should be known for the moderators for a better linux-egypt forum.

Salamo 3alaikom,

I noticed some bug (could not be one). When you do a View now posts (which is actually a search process), you are faced with new posts. If you view a post and go back to the search results in mozilla the process of viewing that thread you visited is not updated on the icons indicating that you visited that thread. This is not updated except when you refresh the page in Mozilla. I noticed that this bug is abscent in Internet Explorer. Is this bug related to php, or what? Could someone explain this please to me?

every day I read those two posts and try to understand them. I just can't understand what you mean, neither do others(i think). Can you explain in clearer terms.

Salamo 3alaikom,

When you are in the linux-egypt subjects, at the top right of the page you can see View new posts. If you click on it you can see the posts that you haven't read since your last visit. The new threads have icons to their left side indicating whether or not you have visited them. In Mozilla and likes, if you visit any of the new thread and go back with the back button on the toolbar you notice that the icon to the left of the visited thread to be showing that is still unread. In Internet Explorer, this is not the case since the icon to the left of the visited thread is updated to show that you have visited that particular thread. Is this a bug? What is in both browsers to make this happen?

Ahh, ok I c now. After clicking back, click on reload the current page on your browser. You will see the envelope closed now.

Salamo 3alaikom,

If you -after you understood my last post- have seen the previous post concerning the same topic, you would have noticed that I do refresh the page to close the envelope. I was asking about why does this happen in Mozilla and not in IE. Anyone knows why?

well, this is out of my scope. I tried checking about:config and everything I know about phoenix/mozilla and I am out of luck. I think you should check http://www.mozillazine.org forum and tell them about this problem.

The guys at mozillazine are so competent with browser customization.
