Suddenly the resolution of text on both of Gnome and KDE has changed. What I mean with text resolution is how clear and sharp the text is. The title bars, tool bars, menus and text within windows don't look as before anymore. Any ideas?

you might enabled/disabled anti-aliasing?
if your using kde then check : KDE Control center -> Appearance and themes -> fonts.

Thanks man, that worked things out. I tried it before but never logged out and logged in again..this time I did and it fixed the problem.
