i wonder if u buy master books for computer science?
concerning me, i have never bought any master book,
i always use a copy, so i wonder if some one has seen the master books, plz tell me, how do it look like?:D

lets just not be happy with that ok , even if its a fact , we need to stop it plus you can have originals with a fair price from baccah.com and other egyptian book shops , they order too , and people really do effort to write books we rip , u wouldnt be happy if u wrote a book , and got nothing for it .

U can also downloaded books... really good books

i know it is wrong to copy the books but i think it is the only solution,
i willl take an examle, a book called networking essentials{microsoft edition] , it is original price is 60$ [360 lE},
the copy costs me 30 l e ,

well, i am still on my openion, there are a very big defferances between stealing a car and stealing since,

since is for all people,
ofcourse i know that u are right when u said it is wrong , but i wonder if there is a solution for this problem,

A car is very important to me.

Also, you can go to your college, and visit its library.
I believe you will find pretty much books that you like.

Did anyone visit Dar Elkotob? I think there is a copy of every book that enters Egypt kept there. Why don't you seek a photocopy of it from there?

Hey,

look, this is a very important issue. My local currency is dropping fast, books are getting expensive each day. BUT I WANT TO LEARN.

Well, there are lots of medical text books printed locally in egypt, Legally. For example, I bought several medical text books for a price of only 30LE each (may be more that 50% decrease in price). Printed on OK paper, with a decent binding. Although the paper quality is not similar to the original, but they are very easy on the eyes and readable. Thanks to MASS publishing and another Libanese publisher, they print poopular books locally.

If those FAT books were photocopied, they would have costed much more. Even they would not go into my library, I tend to draw on Xerox paper and mess it. They would be thrown at the end, and the main function of the book as a refrence would fail. Photocopying also messes with the typesetting ;-) of the book, thus it becomes a horrible experience for your eye.

I also bought several ISE (International Student Edititon). ISE books were printed abroad, but targeted to developing nations. They were cheaper than normal editions. Unfortunatly the british goverment stopped such support in '99

so, many of your problems would be solved if the books are printed locally, or targetted third world students.

Im against whats so called IP (Intellectual Property)
As Ahmed said; IP killed so many ppl in most of the poor parts of the world like ours Africa.
Those who invented the IP do not respect it; they develop and do intelligence activities against us. They steal designs from here and there.
Im against IP because of its extreme greedy. When u suffer a disease and u cannot get the cure because ur country didnt pay these IP $$$$$$$ to manufacutre it localy at prices adequate to ur budget what will happen? ull surely die; imagine it may be ur son.
I dnt agree with most u here who give an example of photocopying like stealing. Without this stealing u wont be that Linux guru who is talking now here. If u so honest please go fire all the copies u ve and low level format ur brain and start learning from originals. But please dnt forget to invite to join the cermoney of the first original book u will get.

I am graduated from an egyptian engineering faculty.
And yes, I entered the university's library, and I learned many things from it.
And it has many wonderful books.
BTW, I wasn't kidding.

Not everyone can afford buying the original...

Ofcourse you should try to check free available books/texts first before launching your kazaa.

(Same thing with music...it'd only cost you 10L.E. to get all the popular songs in one cassette, unlike buying every singers cassette which would cost you your whole pocket money)
