Try to find how we can make it work in start up.

If you want to control the connection, see the FAQ article about "How can I start/stop the connection manually?

BINGO !!!! but :(

Hello..I am online...At laaasst :) :) But ...

I have followed the link step by step especially the "example" in http://speedtouchconf.sourceforge.net/script.shtml. Everything went well but I would like to add the follwing hints otherwise it won't work

1. On http://www.linux-usb.org/SpeedTouch/mandrake/index.html. The firmware that's on the Alcatel's site never worked with me, although it was recommended in I have visited for the silver modem. The only one that worked is the last stable version of the script (6th March 2005) and the the firmware "this firmware" which is rev4fw.zip is the one. N, no need to remove the old software mgmt.o .It will automatically remove it.

2. Also never transfer to the working directory sourceconf-dd-mm-yyyy the file alcaudsl.sys, otherwise it will take preference on the .zip file and this will never connect. (Please refer to FAQ)

Everything worked as scheduled in the "example"..

==================================================

To automatically dial-in when the PC boots up :

/usr/lib/lsb/install_initd speedtouch

Do you want to set this up now? (Yes / No)

=============================================

But.. When I answer YES to the question, it NEVER connects on reboot. I have to connect manually everytime I turn on the PC by /etc/init.d/speedtouch start (please refer to FAQ). The init never succeeds. I get the following error when I answer Yes

usage:

chkconfig --list name

chkconfig --add

chkconfing --del

chkconfig [level

init command failed

Well, a success though, however why not let it work as it should be, why it does not dial up and connect at reboot ???? I apologize if it was boring but.. Thanks a lot ShErbO, your care is really appreciated we made most of it buddy.. :)
the file was worked with him :
http://jaist.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/speedtouchconf/speedtouchconf-06-03-2005.tar.gz
where is the hek rev4fw.zip :D
