HIZ all ... i am the one who posted the hsfconfig problem with the conexant.....
now ... the conexant is givving me error 16

the styory is ::

i press conect.. then it works well then

at the last step .. the message appears ..

modem error 16 .. look at the man page ..

i looked at it .. ifound the error 16 means

modem hangs up

but i don't know what this mean ... really another thing i didn't know made the x-windows fail .. and as i wasn't professional had to install linux again .... and i tried to makethe modem works again but the same thing happened..........

what shall i do to avoid error 16.......

Do you any conflicts between the modem and any other PCi hardware card on your PC in Windows? Why don't you google with the error message as your search string.
