I've added a satellite PCI tuner card "CHAINTEC digitop DST-1000" .it worked ok under XP, and at the the first boot in linux also .
at the next boot it goes ok till finishing
finding module dependencies and then freezes

Solution is to google for your card's name and Linux. I did that for my camera.
