The first release candidate of SUSE Linux 10.0 has been released: "SUSE Linux 10.0 RC1 'Nürnberg' is ready for testing. The final version is expected to be available at 6th October."

Most important updates

GNOME 2.12,
updated Xen,
improved hardware and hotplug handling,
fixed issues with GRUB and libvorbis,
package updates,
improved laptop support,
etc.


As usual, the distribution's five ISO images and BitTorrent trackers are available from the OpenSUSE download page and mirror servers.

Torrents are available for the i386, ppc and x86_64 versions.

The downloadable OSS edition lacks some packages for licensing reasons of which some, like Java, can be installed via package repository."
