well do you use GNU/Linux at all??
iceman
actually, I'm sick of a win2k copy i have on another partition and planning on UPGRADING to SUSE linux :) Know nothing about it, and yes I'm a n00b, but we all gotta start somewhere ey ?
alaa
sure, and this is a very good place to start (if you can take the flamewars :-)
anyway, you know how to seek copies of GNU/Linux distros here right?? just go to http://www.linux-egypt.org/article/49 and find someone you like :-)
if you've broadband then you can download the stuff yourself, just make sure to check the MD5SUMS before burning.
BTW while it is legal to distribute Suse it is not realy free software or open source software (only the suse specific parts, the rest of the GNU/Linux system istelf is free software tab3an).
I recommend you use another distro for that reason alone.
my personal preference is Mandrake, but this is a matter of taste.
in case you don't know already you can learn more about the true meaning of software freedom @ http://www.fsf.org/philosophy
oh yeah and you realy should get into the habit of reading manuals and documentation if you intend to master GNU/Linux
cheers,
Alaa

Salamo 3alaikom,
To cut things short:
LInux is suitable for every need.
Famous distributions: Redhat (Fedora), Mandrake, Debian, .... others.
The distributions are available with the linux distributors list which is maintained by Safrout.
Salam.
