My Freaind asked me to post u this question as he couldnt send it himself : I'm using Red Hat
Linux 9 ... and using KDE (GUI) KPPP and when I click on connect it tells me "MODEM IS BUSY" .. I'm using an IBM Laptop with modem "AGERE SYSTEMS AC'97" on COM3 ... Peace ppl

check your modem driver and its true
if not try to remove and install it
