i am using ximian evolution 1.2.2 and i can't view news written in arabic inside it

Thunderbird supports arabic, thats for sure. But I am not sure if it will open local mail boxes. Since you will use Gotmail to download your Hotmail inbox. So you better test your configuration on KMail first.

Salamo 3alaikom,

Evolution 1.2.2 is a GTK 1.2 app so don't expect it to display arabic. Even Evolution 1.4 is not arabic enabled yet. I think still there is no bidi support in Evolution 1.4. Try using Mozilla mail but leave messages on server if you want them downloaded for Evolution as well.
