Assalamoalikum
i m using redhat 2.1 Advaced server linux box.Hp laserjet 1300 printer is attached to this box.
I want to take oracle reports printout .English is printing properly but arabic characters are in junk.pls help me to solve this .should i do anything on linux box to print arabic properly.

Hi ,
I m using KDE .
Through printconfig i configured the printer .Printer is working fine .
Now ,i m running oracle applications 11i on the redhat linux box .
When i print the oracle reports ,the englsih characters r printing fine .but arabic is in junk .

so you are printing from oracle directly ?

this might be a little late...

ok, so you want to print arabic, i did a little research a month ago
with CUPS and found out that the only way to print well formed
arabic pages is if they're converted to PostScript (.ps) either
manually (i.e Print to .ps and you print that file through lp or lpr)
or automatically like gedit which converts its data to .ps...

are your Oracle reports well formed on screen...? how does
Oracle AS print them..? does it convert it to raster or .ps or
does it just print the text.?
