I installed packages under mandrake 9.0 ( GNome ) , however the programs related to these packages didn't appear in GNome menu .
for example i installed all contents of "developement " , but i didn't find KDevelop in the "start" menu ...

did you install these packages from the Mandrake CDs??

try to open MenuDrake from the Mandrake Control Center, do you see these packages there??

Yes , I installed them from Mandrake 9.0 CDs .
After installation of these packages , they disappeared from packages list , and this is what made me confused .

the package list is split to the list of packages you can install and the list of packages already installed.

so naturaly when you install something it will no longer appear in the list of packages you can install, which is what rpmdrake shows, use remove packages to list the packages already installed.

again as for your menu problem please open MenuDrake and check there.
