View Full Version : Problem with CDS I got
CVirus
:( :( :( When I make a media check for the second CD in the begining of the preparation for installation it tells "Unable to read the disk checksum from the primary volume descriptor. This probably means the disk was created without adding checksum. " ... So I began installation and the 1st CD was installed and tells me to enter te second CD but when I put it in the CD rom drive it tells me " That's not Red Hat CD" ... The same problem is in CD 3 ... Who can help me ???:( :( :(

Salamo 3alaikom,
I just am making a guess that the 2nd and 3rd CDs made by the one from whom you got the CDs are not having the proper MD5Sum (iso images) or they were not done from the iso image but instead copied file by file and dir by dir. This might lead to this problem. To avoid such errors you CVirus please make sure that the CDs are done from Iso images and not from just copying the CDs. That is first. Second: make sure the iso images have proper md5sum. Let the distributor or the one whom you got the CDs from do the following:
md5sum filename
compare the resulting number with the iso images checksums which is present on the same directory where the iso images where downloaded from. It is a small file and can be downloaded or viewed in a sec.
Yala Salam.

that was the reason of a problem bet a member on one of the members on the lists which resulted that this member was removed from the list cos he didn't know anything about md5sum and he didn't want to do anything about it
and that which we r fighting for now
