Could help...
Search in google, it will yield more results than any of us would provide + You get faster response without having to wait for some boring people to come and tell you to search the forum.
So make google (http://google.com/linux) your first stop.

hello again
i forgot to say that i have mandrake version 8.1
so i need a kernal 2.2.12 for mandrake
thanks a lot
OneOfOne
sorry i forgot that redhat uses nptl which means you are pretty much stuck with the kernels they make or 2.6.x
so my link is pretty much useless...
peace
OneOfOne
you dont need mandrake kernel since afaik mandrake don't use any "weird" stuff in their kernels.
just grap the stock kernel and compile it yourself.

Download this precompiled kernel for your mandrake
http://andrew.cait.org/ess/kernel-2.2.12-i586.tar.gz
and read this carefully
