Assalam Alikum,

Well, this is an experience I had, and I thought you should know it.
I have been using linux for 4 years now. I confess I was lazy and I did not to know much about it. I wanted my work to get done.
I read about linux and all its phelosophy and the freedom behind it. But man..I used to say, to install a program on windows is to click on the icon and to find it in the start menu. Linux is not that easy- Though itis NOW and ALWAYS WAS.

then I needed Latex, I had to write scientific papers and I did not know any thing about it. Ironically, Latex is included in Linux!!!

then I wanted smthing easy on windows...there was a very lon list of programs. But those tools of linux stayed smelling good in my mind.

I could not waste much time. I delved myself in the windows world. And with some PDF converting tools everything became smooth.
Even some respected magazines now accept papers in word. But in secrets !!!

Once, I was supposed to publish a paper and it should be in Latex Format. I was set up. What should I do.

I went to the site and downloaded some papers to see how did they do it, so I can do the same.
Oh, but I can learn from this, right? I said to myself, and I learned.
The same can be done on programming, and I did knew things about C and C++,
the same can be done on anything as long as I prefere to learn this way...(I really do, I am famous here of that)
Linux give it all to me.
Linux told me the right way to make things and in the same time, tell me how and why do I do this and that.
Windows and Microsoft did its best to keep me ignorant and lazy.
That's how they may control the whole world, let alone it economy with the new patents laws and the like.
I then knew evrything from the beginning. I knew I should control everything I have and to let it sontrol me. I do know love Linux more than ever before. I am now FREE.

I am sure everyone has a story like that , Because Linux is All about doing it on your own and not trying to change the concept of a computer user , thats why u usually find a linux kiddie user very knowlegble compared to a windows one , and ofcourse an admin to an admin , with linux u learn things the way they really ARE

partition , mbr, interface, swap, TeX , permissions , ...

Its not even comparable , I once though of doing something like
a newsletter titled

"What you can do in Linux on the fly and cant do on windows or using 3rd part software"

:)

Strangely, you find people defending MS products, claiming they have excellent support, I usually tell them that history speaks for itself.

Also, take this:

I give you a box of tools. It has so many tools that you may not imagine, yet I know what I gave you!
This simply means I can make a possibility of EVERYTHING you may produce. Even your imagination I can tell you about it and I can control your innovation.
This is the pheosophy of MS. and it is backed by others.
