Placing the riddle that way is the riddle itself. The solution is simple: One of them has 10 and the other 2 have paid each 9. The total is 28 $ with the 2 $ in the clerk's pocket will make the actual 30 they paid. Am I right?

the two dollars with the clerk , will subtracted from the 27( that the three men payed

after returning back one dorllat to each man )not added to them

27-2 = 25 the same amount that will be written into ledger ;)
