How about making a competition every month and call it Linux Egypt Programming Challenge (LEPCh). It is somethink like asking people here to write a software to do a specific task.

warrior101, I think you'd better chooose a program to solve a certain algorithm for example. while less fun for sure, but all of those suggestions require extensive knowledge of some libraries, particularly socket I/O programming and so, which I think only few members would know.

Or on the other hand, we may choose such complex projects but we need teams not individuals !!! (which is really difficult!!!)

How about just help each other. It's working nice on the IRC channel.

http server ? That's not hard, I wrote a very very basica and minimalistic one before, It sends you the page and exit. That wasn't hard at all, It's not hard too to extend it.
