The KDE Project has announced the immediate availability of KDE 3.5 Beta 1, dubbed "Kanzler".
This will be the last major release in the KDE 3 series.

Qt 3.3.5 was released too late to adapt to it and it shows some fundamental compilation problems. We had a preview of KDE 3.5 two months ago."

i have tried to compile it for my AMD sampron 2400+ (1.7 GHz) and 512 RAM and the cpu is getting consumed ( i could hardly move my mouse during copmile.. i compiled alpha release before under RHEL 4 and i did not find such problem ... my sys now is FC4 ....any idea
