the problem is mandrake 8.2 detect my modem but I can not connect with it....alwayes modem ready & modem initialize but no log on.
I already have two modems motorola & rockwell & I have the driver of motorola (*.rpm) plz tell me how can I install the driver of motorola or rockwell if possible or that I should buy a new one (US robotics) to log on with linux....

I like linux very much it is Great OS adn i want to use as my main Os but the problem in my modem my modem is `zoom` or as linux detect is ``lucent Microelectronics winmodem`` i tried linmodems.org drivers but give me error mesg in setting modules so please help me to fix this problem ... and if i need to change my modem please Vote some good cheap modems work with Linux

but here is the answer first ya sedi u have to get the driver for rockwell ok

press on agree and then d/l the driver

then u have to install it
u have to read the install file and do as what they r saying
it is very easly


and u must know that not all us robotics modem work with linux also
but any external modem works
so if u can change get an external one we raya7 dema3'ak
