Asslamo A3laikom,

After i disconected from internet, i noticed some files that i did not put on my desktop!!...like a folder called (orbit.ali) and (gconfig-ali) and there is an icon like a bomb named (core.3464). and there is a file named mapping-ali.

Can any one tell me what are those files are? and where did they come from.

Note: I could not attatch a screenshot because it is more than allowed by the forum ( it is more than 130 kb).

don't use gnome so I don't know what the orbit and gconfig files are exactly.
but I do know that orbit and gconfig are parts of gnome.

as for core.3464, this is a core file
core files are generated when a program crashes

core files have been discussed here several times, the most recent of them is http://www.linux-egypt.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2464&highlight=core+file
