Yay Alaa is famous; slashdot is doing an interview with him http://interviews.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=04/05/05/1354234 .

Man look at the racist comments, we never could stomach slashdot, the trick ?MadFarmAnimalz tells us is to browse at +5!!!.

Anyway this is the first time we expose ourselves to racism (is this how it feels to be black, female, homosexual, jewish, copt, palestinian.... hell its probably even worse), but what scares us the most is how misinformed slashdotters are,maybe we should start a ?SlashDottersGuideToEgypt one day.

come to think of it this is probably a good idea, I doubt you can find a photo of an ?EgyptianBus or an ?EgyptianClassRoom on the web.

Please dont think that slashdotters overall are mis-informed because a few make stupid comments.

Every slashdot article has these idiots and they usually get modded down to 0 or -1, just browse at 1+ or 2+ and you'll miss most of the crap.

I think 95% of people in the world are tolerant towards other people and cultures, its the stupid 5% that ruin it for the rest of us.

I'd speculate it was a lack of information about Egyptian society, rather than misinformation, that resulted in the questions you answered on Slashdot.

I, and I'm sure many others, appreciate you recognizing that and taking the time to go beyond straight answers and offer a bit of insight and education.

It may bring you some small amount of relief to know that probably 95% of the racist comments on that story isn't real racism. I.E. the posters are probably not racist at all; they're just trolling and trying to get a reaction out of people.
