eglogs aggregator independence

Alaa,

Don't you think now that the eglogs aggregator should now be separated from your own site to be more global service with more features with independent entity with working volunteering team working on it?

It's just a thought, only thought.

well go ahead and start such a project if you want, the opml is there and I'll be glad to answer any questions, seeing how all aggregators and rings in the arab world end up censoring some speech or other I've absolutely no interest in taking the risk of sharing decision making.

also if we sping aggregator then I need to explain every single technical decision to everyone, I need to have agreement on categorization and I need to maintain a specific level of service stability and quality that I'm not willing to offer at the moment.

so to summarize I might stop running this aggregator and join a group effort when someone else takes the initiative and when that effort proves to be as good and as committed to absolute freedom of speech, but I will not start a group effort myself (not anytime soon at least).

Well, your answer suprise me a little as I didn't expect it. Although, I don't have much time or energy to initiate that but lets think together, do u suggest using drupal with aggregator2 or another opensource rss server-side aggregator.

Do you have the ability to host this projects?

I'm not familiar with other server side rss aggregators with permenant storage, I default to using drupal and don't look for other solutions unless drupal proves unsuitable.

jordan planet are also using aggregator2 BTW

and no I cannot host such a project the aggregator consumes a large amount of resources and the server won't be able to sustain 2 aggregators of the same scale.
