Re: 3abbas

shouf...the first time ever for me to hear a latmeya....was in el masged el amawi in damascus...and i was mesmerized....they were a group keda of men...singing a very very haunting song and beating their chests....i just stood there and couldnt even steady my hand to take decent pictures....and i knew later that this was a latmeya

the story of el hussein is one that always makes me very very very sad....i can never cope with the fact that they really killed the grandson of the Prophet....and the guide who was with us kept telling us more details and more stories....since there was a shrine in el masged el amawi with (supposedly) the head of el hussein

add to that en in the same mosque...there's ANOTHER shrine for john the baptist....another man i love so much mesh 3arfa laih....no need to say eni men sa3et ma shoft el nas dool byoltomo le7ad lama rawa7t we ana ba3ayat...it was a very charged experience for me and since then we ana ba7eb el latmeyat gedan....mesh ba7ebaha 3ala ad ma it haunts me...

thanks for the lovely post and the song :)
