I just noticed that we passed the 1000 nodes milestone, I suppose thats a long way for our website. is anyone wondering about the rate by which eglug is growing? I made a crude plot of eglug's growth with time using.
green is for nodes and red is for users. what do you make of it? even though the growth is steady our active members are still among the first 200 (most among the first 100 actually), how to we engage the new members? Categories: Egyptian Non-Blogs

Eglug volunteers who participated in the event:
we took the 7:15 train from Cairo and arrived in el Menya @ 10:20. we were staying at a 3awama called Dahabeya, we went directly to it and had a lovely breakfast on the Nile. we then went to meet the people from New Vision at their place, we spent around 2 hours there (details later). we took the 7:15 train from Cairo and arrived in el Menya @ 10:30 and went directly to Gam3eyet el Sa3eed hotel in Abu Qorqas. arrived @ Salah el Din school (for boys) in Abu Qorqas @ 13:00, we then started the installation of MandrakeLinux 10.1 Eglug edition in their computer lab. the teachers started to arrive while we were installing and we decided to explain the installation process to them all. Fri, 04/02/2005 - 14:00 Location: Abu Korkas, Menya Manal and Ezabi will go to Abu Korkas in Menya to start the ArabDev/EGLUG project there. they will be training 8 school teachers from the Salah El Din (e3dadi, boys school) and Adib Wahba (e3dadi, mixed shcool). This is more or less an initial visit, Ezabi and Manal will install GNU/Linux on schoool pcs, meet the terachers, explain what FOSS and GNU/Linux is about and asses their skills and their needs. I'll be flying to Bangalore, India to represent Arabeyes in Asia Source from the 28th of Jan. to the 4th of Feb. The 7 days camp is co-organised by Mahiti.org (Bangalore) and the Tactical Technology Collective (Amsterdam). The aim of the camp is to increase the uptake of FLOSS by NGOs. This is a call to all Senior Members it is finally time we elected our team of moderators. if you're interested in helping keep the EGLUG website in shape and well organized please nominate yourselfs. نداء لكل الاعضاء القدامى، وقت انتخاب فريق المراقبين أزف، من يريد أن يشارك فى تنظيم و تنسيق صفحة EGLUG يمكنه ترشيح نفسه. according to the list of Senior Members we have 28 seniors, and according to the Members Class Assignment Policy moderators should be 20% the number of seniors at election time, this means we need to elect 6 moderators. وفقا لقائمة الاعضاء القدامى عدد القدامى 28 و وفقا لسياسة تصنيف الأعضاء فريق المراقبين يجب أن يكون 20% من عدد الأعضاء القدامى وقت الانتخابات، اذن علينا انتخاب 6 مراقبين. as you all know we've announced elections before but failed to deliver (this time is for real and we got the pizza to prove it) so we'll assume the old list of nominees is still valid please add your name if you want to run for moderatorship.
