Please do not forget to pray for People of Pakistan, Palestine, Iraq, Sudan, parts of the United States that have been struck lately (since i am totally totally not following up with anything, but pray for them when i remember), Somalia, Bosnia, and any other place where any people may be in distress of any sort. We need not forget those people who are definitely much less fortunate than we. No matter how much we go through many others are for fact going through a worse time than we are. Maybe those prayers will help us as well. ( categories: Egyptian Blogs | Other Languages )
Sharon may die !!
by
from egyptianchronicles.blogspot.com on Thu, 05/01/2006 - 02:42
Strange and surprising news I received exactly 12 am today that Mr.Ariel Sharon was hospitalized tonight having a brain stroke and that he may not survive . I won't lie and pretend to be from his fan club ,but I hate this man so so much . Guys I am peace lover and because I love Peace I hate this man. This man who is suddenly turned from a War Criminal that murdered thousands in to a Peace Man according to presidents Bush and Mubarak!! It is sin in Islam that a person becomes happy when another one his enemy or some one he hates becomes sick and will die but I am sorry I can't hide my feeling ,in fact I was sad earlier when I heard the news because I always wanted him to be killed in some sort of bombing ,some sort of military operation, yet my grand ma told me that I don't now if he suffers or not ,he may suffer now more than if he died in a bombing ,and that what I wish I won't deny it I respect many of the Israeli generals who fought against my Country Egypt in the four wars since 1948 war to 1973 war like Moses Diaan but Ariel Sharon I hate him so much why ? I was wandering around today when my dad called me into his room. "Ta3ali henna, 3ayzik fe 7aga." I came. My dad put a white plastic fly swatter into my hand. "Shayfa el debana di? 3ayzek matsebeesh el oda le7ad matgebeeha. 3ashan heya di mish hatkhaleeni anam lemodet talat teyam." My dad is given to hyperbole, a tendency which I have needless to say inherited. I looked around. I couldn't see the fly anywhere. "Maybe it's not here. Ma el bab maftoo7 aho." "La2 here. Here ya 7abeebi. Law Mama makanetsh kol shwaya tefta7 el shobakâ¦" "Sada2ny mish mawgooda" "Malkeesh da3wa inti. 3ayzek te2teleeha we to7otiha 3ala el wara2a di ka isbat. Ana sala7t el computer â kol wa7ed 3aleih wageb ba2a". "Mashy." As soon as he left I gave up. ( categories: Egyptian Blogs | Other Languages )
Palestinians Invading Egypt, Kill 2 Soldiers and 30 Wounded
by
from seneferu.blogspot.com on Thu, 05/01/2006 - 00:16
My worst fears are coming true. Palestinians are already invading Egypt. They bulldozed our border, killed 2 Egyptian troops and wounded 30. At least 1,000 Palestinians according to witnesses crossed this time into Egypt, I am sure to infiltrate immigration and settle with their relatives on our territory. Meanwhile it appears that our wonderful Pan-Arab government initially gave our troops orders not to fire on the wonderful, poor, suffering and invading Palestinians, and only started to fire back when they realized that our brethren were invading and killing our soldiers. Here is the CNN report. I call on all Egyptian bloggers to organize a mass protest tomorrow against the Palestinian invasion of our country. ( categories: Egyptian Blogs | Other Languages )

Everything is boring, boring like never before. I am fed up with my stuff and things, fed up with my folk and world, fed up with looking in the mirror, fed up with being a 2nd handed friend, fed up with being as isolated and secluded as I am, fed up with the total loss I am living.. Iâm feeling as if I am silently committing suicide in my small room between the same 4 walls. I hate this place, Iâve told them a lot but they never believed. Its suffocating, canât they realize I am of no good being here, as paralyzed as wearing a coffin, as Iâd never wish to be.. frustrated, feeling down, bored, cursing every single beam of fake light theyâd promise me. And yet, they surround me with their stupid questions.. GOSH! ( categories: Egyptian Blogs | Other Languages )

The Cat in The Tomb and The Angel of Death
by
from alexandrianights.blogspot.com on Wed, 04/01/2006 - 21:50
My little sister brought home a very little cat about a week ago ,I am not an animal lover at all and my past experiences (including the crocodile's one) proves that ,but this cat was very cute ,about one month or two months old ,strangely for the past three or four days every day it comes to my bed and jumps to sleep beside me and never accepts to sleep anywhere else regardless of how hard they try to convince it to sleep beside their beds ,it always ran to my room.
Today moring I woke up at 10 AM exactly ,was feeling a little dizzy from uncomfortable sleeping and strange dreams I had but couldn't clearly remember ,I sat for a while in the bed trying to gather my thoughts and inject some energy in my veins to to be able to get up ,I had several problems at work during the past days and this resulted in my enthusing to go to work being decreased severely ,when I felt that time has come and now I really should get up I started my descending from the bed when I noticed somethin strange ,the little cat was lying on the edge of my bed ,looking peacefully but I felt there was something wrong ,I tried to concentrate to overcome all the remaining laziness inside me. To my utter shock the little cat was lying on her back ,not moving at all ,it's eyes were closed and it's tongue were popping out of her mouth in a strange and odd scene. Suddenly I realized that there's something spooky is going on ,there were no breathing signs coming from the cat ,it's chest weren't moving ,I touched the body to feel any warmth and there were none ,no heart beating also at all. Even though I really enjoy teaching, every now and then⦠it just stops me in my tracks. I guess I have to see it coming, nothing is perfect and everything has its down sides. Ah well, just hope it does not change me too much. And Al ahmdulillah for all the good it does for me. I have to be grateful to God for it, really. I was just talking to Me a little while ago, and she said she wants to talk about teaching as well. Don't know yet what her topic is exactly, but I do enjoy her comradeship. And would like her input on this. Actually I think several bloggers I know are teachers. Irina for one. Mmm.. who else? Well my dilemma againâ¦. I feel that I am becoming mean. Really. And I hate it. I do not like being mean to anyone. ( categories: Egyptian Blogs | Other Languages )
Happy New Year

Happy New Year
Well here we go again , another new year which I hope will be better than the previous one. On the personal level last year was great but for Egypt, it was not. We start this year with sadness because of all the bad things that happened last year in Egypt. After a promising start with the intention of changing the constitution to allow for presidential election instead of rigged referendum. The hope for change was short lived after the new constitution draft revealed many restriction on hopeful candidates and as it became clearer, we realized that it was all a charade; there will not be a peaceful change without an uphill struggle. Apparently freedom requires a strong will from the masses which is currently not present in Egypt, because the people are spending all their efforts just to get by, they have no time for a luxury called freedom. *Yawn* ... So it is 2006. I can't figure what is so exciting about new year celebration. What are people celebrating exactly ? That planet Earth continued its rotation around the Sun successfully ? Didn't she rotate around the sun, billions of times before. She slows down a little bit, year after year. But nothing serious. BTW, I have been blogging for one year. I can't find this exciting either. I guess I am depressed. The best way to start a new year is with fresh Cynicism

A Day in My Life I thought about telling you of a typical day in my life. I'm not sure if I'm that important or whether you care to know in the first place, but I just feel I want to give you a glimpse into the life of the humble person behind this blog! - I wake up every morning around 7:30 am. I have to be at my office before 9:30 am. - I take the subway to work. I hate driving. If you asked someone who visited Cairo about what s/he hated, traffic will always come in first. So in order not to get stuck in a traffic jam and be late to work, I take the subway instead. - I arrive at the office and ask for coffee. After 10 minutes, I call the office boy and bark âwhere is my coffee, do you boil the water on solar energy??â I canât function without my morning coffee. Forget it. I just canât. - I check my work emails and voice mails. I curse some people! - Log on to my blog, read the comments, check the readership numbers, and surf the web for latest news. I do that if I donât have something that I must immediately attend to. I could post if the entry is short and doesnât need lots of thinking. - I start working. Ragab
by
from ymotawy.blogspot.com on Wed, 04/01/2006 - 10:52
It has been suggested to me that Haifa Wahby's pathetic song 'Ragab' is actually inspired by very serious literature. Naguib Mahfouz no less. I am keeping the identity of the suggestor secret to save him/her some embarassment in case this turns out to be completely inaccurate. The connection is: In the book (made into a film) Tharthara Fawk Al-nil (Adrift on the Nile), there is a female character who comes onto the houseboat where the book is set accompannied by 'Ragab' her boyfriend. She engages in a flirtation with somebody she meets at the very decadant party held on the boat and is apparantly torn between both men and tries to ask her boyfriend Ragab to keep his attractive friend away from her because she really cannot trust herself (umm, not really torn apparantly, Haifa makes it clear that she pretty much knows what she wants!) and hence the lyrics of the song.... U.S. Press Beating the Drums for Cutting Egypt's Aid
by
from freedomforegyptians.blogspot.com on Wed, 04/01/2006 - 06:18
After Egyptian Opposition leader Ayman Nour was sentenced to five years in prison and the recent appalling Sudanese refugees killings, many articles were written in the American press questioning the Bush Administration stance from the deteriorating records of human rights and Egypt's intention and willingness to take the path of democracy and freedom. The New York Post wrote in its article âThe Price of Repression": âIf Mubarak's Egypt wants to continue getting U.S. funds, it had better recognize these facts: There is a basic code of conduct with respect to basic human rights and freedoms â and jailing the opposition isn't part of that code.â The Washington Post in its article âStand Up to Mr. ( categories: Egyptian Blogs | Other Languages )

Happy New Year. And how better can a new year start than with Microsoft's return with, yet, another flaw in its operating system (a.k.a. Windows) . The WMF (Windows Meta File) flaw has been exploited extensively during the past few days and spawned dozens of attacks, as explained here. And just what is Microsoft doing about it? Well, they do not see a reason to hurry up their monthly security update on the 10th of this month because, get this, their intelligence sources indicate that the scope of the attacks are not widespread. Hehe. Looks like Microsoft, just like G. W. Bush, bases its decisions on misleading intelligence information. ( categories: Egyptian Blogs | Other Languages )

Majdi Ayoun Iskandar, a Copt, to the post of Governor of Qena in Upper Egypt. Ayoun is first Copt to occupy the post of governor in more than 30 years. He is one of 26 governors appointed by Mubarak in a decree issued after Egypt's new government was sworn in over the weekend, according to local press reports. Man Can be Destroyed,,But NOT Defeated

from appreciatediversity.blogspot.com on Tue, 03/01/2006 - 22:52
I'm destroyed now, seems depression and gloom is infectious. After knowing that I'm of no use or help to a dear friend, I knew indirectly that he is getting worse though my sincere attmpts to help him,at least for me they are true attempts, may be I'm doing nothing to him,may be I'm making it worse. Now i feel i'm helpless. The moment I knew he's still and even getting worse,I felt so much pain and rebellion on myself, I subconsciously said" Oh No,dont tell me it's not working out,no way is this how you feel, how I don't know you're that hurt and that deeply tortured" .Some say that "you help who want to help themselves" may be he doesn't want to get better or may be he wants but he needs a help, a hand better than me.Seems I'm stupid fool who can't help anymore.I used to beleive that I'm supportive and good listener, but that was long time ago.Now i have no temper to listen, help, or support. It's me who needs it.despite my persisting fight on doing my usual thing of helping others, but seems recently I'm struggling with no vain, seems I lost this gift and I can't regian it by force or by tryig to ,no matter how hard I do ,seems it was innate thing that's done naturally and when I try now, against my nature,to regain it, it's uselss and still I can't help.

C.S.I: Mania 2

from egyptianchronicles.blogspot.com on Tue, 03/01/2006 - 22:38
My dear follow Egyptian Citizens it is over by the orders of the Egyptian police , they caught the dangerous cruel slayer who murdered 10 persons in Bani Mazr of Mania in the south of Egypt. It turned out this hideous murderer is just like what the first official statement described him as lunatic crazy unstable person!!!! What the f*ck is that rubbish talk ? come on , I made better analysis while setting in front of my PC blogging. I saw the statement of the Police and I am not convinced with all this nonsense. People How can one person kill those three families ,exactly 10 people in this short time alone ,without any noise at all that the people who live in the same and yet lucky enough to survive didn't hear anything !? and also got time to deform their bodies and cut off their sexual organs !? and I forgot not to wake the victims as there were more one than person in the bloody room !? Ironically the official statement said the murderer showed them where he hided the men's sexual organs , OK here is a smart question probably Miss Marple would ask :" where are the women and the children's organ sir???" From their description that the murderer who confessed is psycho person who is suffering from Schizopheranic disorder and double personality "Dr.Jykle and Mr.Hide example" !!! ,also the statement included a hilarious examples that doesn't prove the man is murderer for me but some sex manic !! First of all those double personality people don't remember what they do in their other life. Second till now he didn't say a reasonable motive of why he will do such terrible acts against those helpless people except that he is crazy !!! Dr. ( categories: Egyptian Blogs | Other Languages )

Torture Via Music
from spaces.msn.com/members/MohamedO on Tue, 03/01/2006 - 19:12
It's been reported a couple of times recently that music has been employed as a means of torture and interrogation by the U.S. military. Would-be terrorists have been subjected to Metallica, Britney Spears, and Eminem amongst other bands or 'artists' if you will, in order to break them down. They even used some children's songs from Sesame Street and Barney's theme song (that incredibly obnoxious purple dinosaur, for those of you who haven't been blessed with the acquaintance). This involved blasting the music at them at very high volumes for very long stretches of time, causing them psychological traumas of severe degrees.

Everything I've ever tried to say about my life
by
from forsoothsayer.blogspot.com on Tue, 03/01/2006 - 18:55
This is an article I found on the website of the Canadian International Development Agency to guide Canadians in living in Egypt. I depart from my usual light frivolous posts here because this article has articulated in quite a scholarly way everything I've been mumbling incoherently for years. That said, there were a few comments I had to make on the contents. These are in a blue font. Apologies for the length and non-personal-authorship (this is aimed at you, Mo). Culture, as defined by anthropologist Edward Hall, is "The way of life of a people. The sum of their learned behavior patterns, attitudes and material things... It is not innate, but learned; the various facts of a culture are interrelated." With this definition in mind, it follows that the entire environment of a people and their experiences within this environment throughout an extension of time outlines the basis of their culture. In some ways, Iâm living the Egyptian Dream: A snazzy apartment, with dark wood furniture, a king-sized bed and a balcony that overlooks the backyard of the US ambassadorâs home in the exclusive Zamalek Island neighborhood in Cairo. Iâve got a doorman, a maid, a washing machine. But all is not jasmine and daffodils: Egyptian décor can run from childishly playful to Style de Palace Saddam Hussein. Full length mirrors often reflect both gold-painted gilt furniture and kitschy âI LOVE Youâs painted on fabric hearts â like prized disasters from summer camp art hour. Want style sanity? Get a hotel room. My apartment is fairly sane â blue and white paint in the living room, peach in the bedrooms. ( categories: Egyptian Blogs | Other Languages )
